Submit to the Archive

The Art Cheerleaders archive is open to new documentation, corrections, stories, and contributions. We welcome submissions from former members, collaborators, audience members, photographers, curators, students, artists, writers, teachers, and new chapters.

You may submit:

• photographs;
• videos;
• audio recordings;
• flyers;
• posters;
• programs;
• press clippings;
• cheer texts;
• scripts;
• oral histories;
• performance notes;
• roster corrections;
• dates and venue information;
• chapter proposals;
• new cheers;
• documentation of inspired or affiliated projects.

What We Need

For each submission, please include as much of the following as possible:

• your name;
• contact information;
• title or description;
• date;
• approximate date, if exact date is unknown;
• location;
• event;
• people pictured or involved;
• photographer / videographer / author;
• rights holder, if known;
• whether you have permission to share the material;
• whether the material may be published online;
• whether the material may be used in exhibitions or publications;
• whether you want public credit;
• any restrictions;
• any story or context that should accompany the item.

Submission Review

Submissions are reviewed before publication. Not all submitted materials will appear publicly on the site. Some may be preserved in the research archive, held for later verification, or used only as contextual documentation. We may edit captions, standardize metadata, request additional information, or ask for rights clarification before adding materials to the public archive.

Contributor Credit

Contributors will be credited according to the information provided and the archive’s metadata standards. When authorship is unclear, items may be labeled “photographer unknown,” “source unknown,” “attributed to,” or “identification pending.”

Contributor Understanding

By submitting material to The Art Cheerleaders archive, you confirm that:

• you created the material or have permission to submit it;
• the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
• you understand that submission does not guarantee publication;
• you allow The Art Cheerleaders to review, describe, catalog, and preserve the material;
• you grant The Art Cheerleaders permission to display the submitted material on the website unless you specify otherwise;
• you understand that you retain any rights you own unless a separate written agreement says otherwise;
• you will identify any restrictions, privacy concerns, or third-party rights you know about.
